A Springtime Note: We are so excited about sunny and warm weather in the Academy View neighborhood! The grass is getting greener, kids are out playing, and many of us are already getting started with yard work and gardening. The neighborhood looks and feels great! We would like to encourage everyone to continue playing your part in creating this beautiful environment where we are so privileged to live and play.
Please join your neighbors at these upcoming Academy View events:
Spring Ice Cream Social – May 18th at 6:00pm. Join us in front of 15697 James Gate Place in the main entrance cul-de-sac. Ice cream will be provided. You bring your bowl and spoon, or a cone, along with your favorite topping to share. Plan to enjoy a fun-filled evening together.
Garage Sale – June 1st and 2nd. A summer neighborhood-wide garage sale is scheduled for June 1-2, from 9 a.m. until mid-afternoon. Signs will be made to market the garage sale and we will work to take advantage of free posting sites for additional exposure. Consider having a garage sale as you clean out your attic, basement or garage this spring. Additionally, a trash dumpster will be provided on the street next to the park on Paiute Circle beginning Friday, June 1st through Sunday, June 3rd. We hope you will appreciate the opportunity to discard items that might be difficult to fit into your trashcan. All discarded items must be placed inside the dumpster. (We gained permission for this placement)
Community Picnic – August 11th, 11:00am to 2:00pm. Join us in the park on Paiute Circle. Lunch begins at 11:30am. The Board is providing hot dogs, brats, buns, and drinks, and we’ll have games for the kids. More details will be posted on the Academy view website, and a flyer will be sent as the date becomes closer.

Annual Meeting – December 1st, 11:00am to 1:00pm. Please plan to join us again for the 2012 Academy View HOA Holiday Potluck and Annual Meeting. The potluck lunch will begin around 11:15 am followed by the meeting at 12:15 pm. More details to come.

Annual Holiday Potluck and Association Meeting was a Great Success
The potluck and meeting brought just over 17 households out for a great time. We enjoyed a wonderful meal together followed by a very informative meeting where we were able to officially vote in 5 members to serve on the Board of Directors. The proposed 2012 budget was also ratified. These are all very exciting things that will set our leadership up for great success in the year to come. A huge thank you to everyone who made it out for this incredingly beneficial community event!

Richmond Homes is nearly done building out the remaing lots. They have poured the foundations for the final two homes and will surely be finished soon. Silverwood has contracted Challenger Homes to build out the remaing lot on Chesapeake and is also well on their way to completion. This will soon mark the first time when heavy construction is no longer present in our community. We would like to thank everyone for all of their patience and understanding in the development of a wonderful community for the future. We're also asking that you continue that spirit only a small time longer. Please continue expressing any concerns to our management company and they will ensure that the appropriate actions are taken.
THE COMMUNITY PICNIC WAS A HIT!!!
Thanks to everyone who made it out in July of this year! It was a fantastic time of building community; meeting neighbors, enjoying great food together and watching children play joyfully in a giant giraffe. We look forward to next year and hope that more people can join us for this fun time!
